How we pick stories
Every story on Seasoned Prompts has to pass four tests.
- It really happened. A real person describes actually doing it, first-hand or in a news report. No made-up examples or "10 ways you could" lists.
- It fits this audience. It's useful to people 50+, retirees, or family caregivers.
- It's safe. No investing, no handing medical decisions to AI, nothing that requires sharing Social Security, Medicare, or bank account numbers, and nothing illegal or scammy.
- It's new to us. If we already have the same idea, we add the new story as another example instead of repeating it.
How we check
- We open the source and confirm it's still up and says what we say it says.
- If something can't be confirmed, we say so ("they say," "not verified").
- For health, benefits, and scam stories, we point you to the official source too (for example Medicare.gov, SSA.gov, or the FTC).
- If we're unsure, we skip it.
How we write
- Each entry has an action-style title, a two-sentence summary, what they did, how it went, a "worth knowing" caution, and a prompt to try.
- We write in our own words and quote no more than a short phrase.
- Every prompt reminds you to leave out personal ID numbers and to review anything before it's sent or submitted.
- We always credit and link the original. Company-written stories are labeled as company stories, and each Daily 5 includes at most one.
- People on X and Hacker News are credited by their public handle. For Reddit posts we credit only the community (for example, r/ChatGPT), never the username.
How we make money
Right now, we don't. If we add sponsors or affiliate links later, every sponsor will be labeled "Sponsored," affiliate links will be disclosed right next to the link, and we'll never accept sponsors from banks, brokers, insurance, crypto, or anyone selling financial products.
